SATURDAY, JANUARY 2 3RD, 2010 - Come join us at our 6th California State Sanctioned Amateur Kickboxing FIGHT NIGHT. BATTLING IN THE NEW YEAR! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and first fight begins at 7:15 p.m. (Don't Be Late!) All our events help sponsor scholarships for kids in need into our martial arts and performance programs. Your support and attendance at our events is greatly appreciated. Become a registered fighter - licenses are free Check the California State Athletic Commission website for the application (follow the link on our registration page.) All Fighters who win 5 matches in a single weight division will receive a Title and a WALKING TALL CHAMPIONSHIP BELT! Great for fighters interested in going PRO or for the "Just for the HELL of it Fighters" for bragging rights. Keep training hard and we'll see you in the Ring.! |

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20TH 2009 - Pankration Ring
Challenge 4. (Amateur MMA - No Head Strikes)
Looking to get into the amateur MMA fight scene? Our Pankration ring
tournaments are very professionally run and operated. Trophies awarded to the
winners. You'll be fighting three - three minute rounds in the ring, under the lights,
with the crowd cheering. Only one opponent matched by your age, weight, and
experience. Future Championship Belt to the fighter who wins five consecutive
SCMA Pankration tournaments in the same weight category. Pankration
tournaments have no striking to the head or face. (This is event is approved by the
California State Athletic Commission.) Special Guest Referee is UFC Fighter
Kimo Leopoldo. This will be a great opportunity to get experience and be seen by
New Era Fighting and Fight Engine.com who are looking to sponsor new Fighters.

First off, on behalf of the Walking Tall Foundation at South Coast Martial Arts Training Center we’d like to wish everyone the very best this HOLIDAY SEASON and much joy and success in 2010. It is with sadness and regret that we will be unable to continue our tournaments at this time due to the high cost of putting on amateur events. A typical state sanctioned amateur Kickboxing tournament is upwards of $8000 and amateur Pankration now sanctioned by CAMO will cost about $5000. Without sponsors and enough audience attendance to cover the costs we are unable to foot the bill alone. If anyone has connections for sponsors or is interested in joining us in a Walking Tall Sparring League with its members meeting once per month to practice please give me a call.
